Bruce and Linda (“The LovedOne”) here, deep in Southwestern Oregon. A few years ago we moved beyond the cubicles of work to living through hiking, backpacking, rafting, snowshoeing, traveling, and fiber arts – and some heady volunteerism.
This website is a work-in-progress repository for text (some) and images (many) recording our outdoor and other adventures, with the proviso that we only post about stuff that we’ve done ourselves. In that regard, we’ve had many amazing experiences out there back of beyond. While a few of these were, to be honest, on the less-than-stellar side, none, whether excellent or dubious, were ever boring.
But, sadly, despite repeated readings of Emily Brontë, we’re still short on poetical literary skills. Thus our posts lean more toward informative than emotive. Still, we hope they’re interesting enough to encourage you to go out, hike your own hikes, and experience the wonderous convolutions of Nature for yourself.
Following our hearts while we still have some legs…
Our description of any given hike or trip reflects how we did that hike or trip and what we experienced at the time we did it. But road, trail, and other conditions are ALWAYS changing. And you are not us (lucky you!). So PLEASE pursue your own hike or trip or adventure guided primarily by your own knowledge, judgment, and common sense, given the conditions facing you at that time. Sorry, but we’d prefer not to bear the moral burden (or the liability) for any injury or damages you or anyone in your party may suffer as a result of you relying solely on our little stories.
